Asian Eye Makeup Tips
As many of you have noted, the western way of eye-make up application simply does not work as well for Asian eyes due to different structures. So to make sure that Asians have some summer make-up fun as well, I’ve found some Asian inspirations for you.
Eyeliner
If you’re typically just a black or brown eyeliner girl and don’t really want to branch out into eye shadow any time in the near future, you can still add a little interest to your look. Browse the drugstores and department store makeup counters for dark liners that offer a hint of metallic color. MAC’s Buried Treasure Powerpoint Eye Pencil is a dark brown-black with gold. If you smudge it, the gold becomes more obvious.
What works well for blond hair and blue eyes may prove to be ill suited or even a disaster for women of other ethnic groups.
The yellow and golden skin tones and exotic eye shape are the most outstanding difference that Asian Pacific women enjoy over women of other races and these are just the features that should be emphasized to create a naturally beautiful effect.
Applying Eyeshadow Makeup for Asian Eyes
Apply Eyeshadow Base
This prevents creasing and is a great barrier between you and the product, especially if you have any skin sensitivities.
Asian women look really nice in Smokey color eye shadows. The colors are purples, lavenders, pinks and for Smokey eyes, gray and charcoal. I recommend the following eye shadows: Eclipse, Grapevine or Mystic trios from Bren Cosmetics. Use a charcoal (Raven) or an Onyx (gray) eyeliner on your upper eyelid only.
A lot of fold is essential for dramatic eye makeup and color such as black, deep purple, and navy blue will look stunning especially at night time.
Use multi-layering of your eye shadow colors to enhance your look.
For eyelining small eyes, do not connect the lines drawn on the upper and lower lashlines, because they will make eyes look smaller. Stay away from the inner rims of the eyes, and substitute with iridiscent or just substitute with the light colored eyeshadow used in your eye makeup.
